Roanoke River Striped Bass Meeting to be Held in Weldon

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 11, 2008) – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a public meeting at the Halifax Community College auditorium on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. to discuss striped bass management strategies on the Roanoke River.

Striped bass anglers and other interested parties are invited to attend the meeting to hear the results from an opinion survey that was given to approximately 400 striped bass anglers who fished the Roanoke River last spring.

Commission biologists will also discuss the present status of striped bass and highlight recovery efforts for this important fishery over the last 20 years.

Halifax Community College is located on Hwy. 158 East between Roanoke Rapids and Weldon. The auditorium is located in the 100 building on campus, room 108.
