Western Mountain Region Boating Access Areas

Below you will find a table that contains directions to Western Mountain Region boating access areas maintained by the NCWRC. This table lists the boating access area name, county, detailed directions, and any important user notes about the launch ramp or access channel. In addition, there is a column that notes the accessibility of the access area. If there is a wheelchair symbol in the access column, this means that the boating access area is considered fully accessible due to the designated disabled user parking, paved walkways leading to the launch ramps, and barrier free docks.

Apalachia Lake

Bear Creek Lake

x	Swain	Flat Branch	From Bryson City at the junction of US19 south & SR1321 (Slope St.) turn left onto US19 south, travel 1.1 mile turn right onto Old US19 (SR1320). Go less than 0.1 mile turn right onto SR1311 (Buckner Branch Rd.). Go 3.1mi, turn right onto SR1312 (Round Hill Rd). Travel 2.8 miles turn right onto SR1313 (Greasy Branch Rd). x	Cherokee	Ramsey Bluff	In Murphy at intersection of Peachtree Street, Valley River St, Hiwassee St, Tennessee St, take Tennessee St for 4.3mi. (turns into Joe Brown Hwy). x	Graham	Ranger Station	Take NC129 N out of Robbinsville at junction of NC129 N & NC143 W. Travel NC143 W for 1.2 miles, turn right onto area. Area across from Cheoah District Ranger Headquarters. [N 35^o 20' 6.4'' W 83^o 49' 39.7'']

Nantahala Lake

x	Macon	Choga Road	From junction of US 19 Business and SR 1505 in Andrews, take SR 1505 (Janaluska Rd) and go 6.3 miles. Turn right onto SR 1657 (Big Choga Rd) and go 3.3 miles. x	Macon	Rocky Branch	From NC19 in Nantahala River Gorge take SR1310 (Wayah Rd). Travel 11.9 miles, turn right onto area road, go 0.1 mile to area. [N 35^o 10' 55.9'' W 83^o 39' 26.3'']

Cedar Cliff Lake
