Northern Coastal Region Boating Access Areas A-M

Below you will find a table that contains directions to Northern Coastal Region boating access areas maintained by the NCWRC. This table lists the boating access area name, county, detailed directions, and any important user notes about the launch ramp or access channel. In addition, there is a column that notes the accessibility of the access area. If there is a wheelchair symbol in the access column, this means that the boating access area is considered fully accessible due to the designated disabled user parking, paved walkways leading to the launch ramps, and barrier free docks.

Alligator River

x	Tyrell	Gum Neck Landing	From the junction of US64 and NC94 in Columbia, take NC94 south 13.1 miles to SR1321. Turn left onto SR1321 and travel 2.8 miles to SR1320. Turn left onto SR1320 and travel 1.6 miles to SR1316. Turn right onto SR1316 and travel 0.6 mile to the area. The access road to the area Is located on the left at the end of SR1316. Big Flatty Creek

x	Pasquotank	Big Flatty	From the junction of US17 and US158 in Elizabeth City, take US17S for 1.1 miles and turn left onto SR1152 (Halstead Blvd.). Travel 2.1mi and take NC34 S for 7.5 miles to Esclip Road. Turn right onto Esclip Road and travel 2.3 miles and turn left onto SR1104 (Soundneck Road). Travel 1.7 miles and turn right onto SR1108 (Shadneck Road) for 1.6 miles. The access road to the area will be located on the right. x	Bertie	Windsor	From the junction of US17 and US13 south of Windsor, take US17 north 1.2 miles to Elm St. Turn right onto Elm St. and travel 0.4 mile to the area. The access road is located on the right at the end of Elm St. [N 35^o 59' 5.3" W 76^o 56' 31.6"]

x	Chowan	Edenhouse Bridge	From the junction of US17 and NC32 (Exit 227) in Edenton, travel south on US17 for 2.7 miles to Exit 224. Take Exit 224 to SR1204 (West Queen Extended); turn right onto SR1204 and travel 0.1 mile to Wildlife Access Road. Turn left onto Wildlife Access Road and travel 0.9 mile to the area. 	Chowan	Midway Drive	From the north end of the Albemarle Sound Bridge on NC 32 near Edenton, take NC 32 north 1.3 miles to SR 1114 (Soundside Road). Turn left onto SR 1114 and travel 2.8 miles to SR 1119 (Midway Drive). Turn left onto SR 1119 and travel 0.4 mile to the area. The area is located on the right at the end of SR 1119. x	Pitt	Grifton	Beginning from the junction of NC11 and SR1157 approximately 10 miles north of Kinston, travel east on SR1757(South Highland Avenue) for 1.4 miles to Main Street. Turn left onto Bowsertown Road and travel 0.4 mile to California Lane. Turn left onto California Lane and travel 0.1 mile to the area. The area is located on the right. Currituck Sound

x	Currituck	Brumley Road	Beginning from the NCDOT Ferry Docks on Knotts Island, travel north on NC615 approximately 2.2 miles to SR1259 (Brumley Road). Turn right onto SR1259. The parking area is located on the left near the junction of Brumley Road and Bay Street or approximately 120yds before the end of the road. [N 36^o 30' 28.8" W 75^o 54' 36.5"]
x	Currituck	Poplar Branch	Beginning from the east end of the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge on US158 at Coinjock, take US158 east 4.9 miles to NC136 (Macedinia Church Rd). Turn left onto NC136 and travel 1.2 miles to intersection. Turn left onto Poplar Brandch Road and travel 1.1 miles to the area. The area is located at the end of the road. East Lake

Intracoastal Waterway
