The Centennial Campus Center is located in the headquarters of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission-- a "green" building designed to limit environmental impact related to its construction and operation.  This sustainable structure is the first of its kind on campus and features

• Daylighting and energy efficiency
• Earth-friendly building materials
• Careful management of water and solid waste
• Environmentally friendly landscaping
• An active rain garden.

The Center's interior displays teach visitors about ecological succession and the role human choices play in shaping nature in the Piedmont.  The Center has an auditorium where visitors can view a 20-minute video with a timeline of
changes in the Piedmont, from natural wildlife areas to suburban sprawl.  The history, exhibits, video and outside demonstration areas make the Center a great place for family or group field trips.

Centennial Campus is accessible from Avent Ferry Road and Centennial Parkway, and is convenient to I-40.

Admission/Donations:
Admission to the exhibits and most programs are free of charge.  Pre-registration is required for all programs. Contributions to the center are gratefully accepted; a donation box is located at the information desk. Please ask at the information desk about tax-deductible gifts to the center.

Accessibility:
The sustainable building, exhibits and classrooms fully comply with ADA accessibility guidelines.  Paved sidewalks provide viewing access to the rain gardens and a wetland.  In the future, the center will be connected to an accessible greenway that links various natural habitats on Centennial Campus.

The Centennial Wild Store:
The retail store operated by the commission is open Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm.  Merchandise includes educational materials, wildlife books, posters, gifts and apparel.  All proceeds from the sale of Centennial Wild Store products support conservation education programs.
