Welcome to the Outdoor Kids section—the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's Web site for kids (ages 6 through high school). Be sure to check back often as we will add new information and activities. Explore the site to learn about North Carolina's wildlife species and interesting habitats. There are puzzles, project ideas, links and other fun things to do!

There are five main sections to the Outdoor Kids site. These are "What is NCWRC?," "Project Ideas," "My Back Yard," "Species Spotlight" and "Fun Stuff." Links to these sections are at the top of each page as you explore.

What is an Acrobat PDF file?
You can use most of the activities and links without special software. Instructions will be provided when special software is needed. Some files are saved as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. This is a type of file that you will need special software to view. This special software, called Acrobat Reader, is available free. If you don’t have Acrobat Reader already installed on your computer, you can click on the button above where you can download the program. You may want to ask an adult to help you.
